Stage Description
We are in the heart of the mountains for the queen’s stage of the Mongolia Bike Challenge 2011. Three Climb Awards and four impressive mountain passes at around 2,800 mt of evelation shorten the breath and weaken the legs of even the most prepared riders. The scenery is that of an epic poem. The riders pedal in areas completly incontaminated and void of any tourist visits. The water of the rivers and lakes is pure and drinkable. Five river crossings and four peaks to climb are the entry tickets for this big challenge. The camp is set in a valley which seems to be right out of a book of fables.
Day Chronicle
The Queen's Stage

With three passes over 2800 meters and some of the most spectacular scenery in Mongolia, the Queen's Stage promised to be the most epic day of this year's Mongolia Bike Challenge presented by Orbea. Unfortunately, heavy rains forced race organizers to cancel today's stage two thirds into the race, as conditions in the mountains were too dangerous to continue. Riders have a much needed day-off tomorrow before going into the final three stages to Karakorum.
